FAQ - Do not skip this!

Q: If I finish this program, am I automatically a supervisor?

A: No. The 40 hour LPC LMFT Supervisor Course is not a certification course. Upon completing this program, participants seeking the clinical supervisor credential must still meet the criteria mandated in their state regulations, apply, and pay all applicable fees. State licensing boards have ultimate jurisdiction.

Q: Is this course approved by the Texas LPC/LMFT licensing boards? I remember that courses must be taught by approved providers only.

A: There is long answer to this:
  • In 2019 the law requiring the 40 hour LPC supervisor training to be offered only by an approved provider was eliminated. Now, neither the LPC nor the LMFT board approves CE providers or supervisor training courses.
  • The workshop version of our 40 hour LPC LMFT Supervisor Course was audited and approved by the Texas LPC Board in 2016.
  • The LPC board requires the course instructor to be a LPC Supervisor and Dr. Walker is a LPC Supervisor and LMFT Supervisor. She is also a NBCC approved provider.
  • Additionally, the Texas LPC regulations require LPC Supervisor training courses to meet certain criteria. We encourage you to preview the Syllabus so you can see exactly how the Kate Walker Training 40 Hour LPC LMFT Supervisor Training meets or exceeds Texas LPC and LMFT standards.

Q: I didn't think we could take the 40 hour LPC LMFT Supervisor Course completely online. Did that law change too?

A: It did indeed in 2019.

Q: Other courses offer free tools and resources after participants graduate. Does this course?

A: You betcha.
  • Graduates receive a free listing for life in the Texas Supervisor Training Supervisor Directory.
  • We offer free tools, templates, and resources including 14 Supervisor CEs for one year following graduation.
  • The Supervisor Monthly Consultation group meets six times each year for a total of 12 hours of continuing supervision education and ethics. Kate Walker Training graduates receive free admission to these already affordable meetings for one year.

Q:
I have been a fully licensed Texas LPC for three years. I can be a supervisor, right?
