A: There is long answer to this:

·        In 2019 the law requiring courses to be taught only by approved providers was eliminated. Now, neither the LPC nor the LMFT board approves CE providers.

·        LMFT rules require that 50% of CEs come from approved sources. One of the approved sources is a national organizations. Dr. Walker is a NBCC approved provider.

·        Upcoming LPC rules will require that 50% of CEs come from approved sources. Two of the approved sources are national organizations and LPC Supervisors. In addition to being a NBCC approved provider, Dr. Walker is a LPC and LMFT Supervisor.

Q: Is this course considered online, live, interactive, or asynchronous?
 

A: This course is asynchronous.

·        Limits on online, asynchronous CEs for LPCs were removed in 2019. 

·        LMFT regulations still stipulate only 15 CEs can be accrued from an online asynchronous non-interactive course each renewal cycle.

 Q: I signed up for the course. How long do I get to finish it?
 
 A: The course is yours once you purchase it. Please note that a course will be removed from the Kate Walker Training website when its update is generated (usually around January of a new year). Your course won't be removed from your profile.

Q: When I purchase this course I am purchasing a certificate, right?
 
 A: No. When you purchase this course you are NOT purchasing a certificate. Rather you are purchasing an opportunity to earn a certificate.

Lack of integrity/cheating will result in immediate removal from the course with no refund and legal action if necessary. Some examples of cheating/lack of integrity are:

·        Disputing charges if you fail to earn a certificate 

·        Re-purchasing the course under another email if you failed to earn a certificate

·        Plagiarism (if course assignments call for a paper to be turned in to a grader)

 Q: If I don't like the course can I get a refund?
 
 A: No. This course is considered an e-good and all e-good purchases are final so please be sure to see purchase terms and conditions before you pay for your purchase.

 Common Questions About Becoming a Supervisor in Texas

Q: I have been a fully licensed Texas LPC for three years. I can be a supervisor, right?
 

A: It is up to the LPC board, but LPC rules stipulate you must hold your LPC license for five years before they will process your LPC Supervisor application. 
 
 If you are a Texas LPC, only take the 40 hour LPC LMFT Supervisor Course if, upon successful completion you can say either:

·        I have been licensed five years

or

·        I have been licensed three years and I will submit my CE certificate in two years.

Q: How long must I hold my LMFT license before I can apply for my LMFT Supervisor designation?
 
 

A: It is up to the LMFT board, but LMFT rules stipulate you must have documented at least 3,000 hours of LMFT practice over a minimum of 3 years before they will process your LMFT Supervisor application. 
 
 Only take this 40 hour LPC LMFT Supervisor Course if, upon successful completion you can say:

·        I have have documented at least 3,000 hours of LMFT practice over a minimum of 3 years
