FAQ - Do not skip this!

Q: Do you offer payment plans?

A: We do! When you're at the checkout screen - it will give you options to use payment plans!

Q: How does my certificate come once I've completed the course?

A: Your certificate will come when every lesson is marked complete and all quizzes have been completed. It will automatically come to your inbox from Podia. Please ensure you DO NOT use the automated Podia certificate - it will not work. Use the PDF in the email which says sample certificate.

Q: If I finish this program, am I automatically a supervisor?

A: No. This Supervisor Course is not a certification course. Upon completing this program, participants seeking the clinical supervisor credential must still meet the criteria mandated in their state regulations, apply, and pay all applicable fees. State licensing boards have ultimate jurisdiction.

Q: Is this course approved by the social work licensing board?

A: There is long answer to this:

  • The Social Work board does not pre-approve CE providers or supervisor training courses.

  • Since 2024, our course certificate was used with success for social workers gaining their supervision designation. There has not been anyone who has taken our course that didn't get their designation if they finished on time.

  • The Social Work board requires the course instructor to be a Council-approved LCSW Supervisor and Dr. Durbin is a LCSW Supervisor.

  • Additionally, the Texas Social Work regulations require LCSW Supervisor training courses to meet certain criteria. We encourage you to preview the Syllabus so you can see exactly how the Kate Walker Training 40 Hour Social Work Supervisor Training meets or exceeds Texas Social Work standards.

Q: I didn't think we could take the Social Work Supervisor Course completely online.

A: Yes, you can. The BHEC rules and state law do not have any face-to-face criteria.

Q: Other courses offer free tools and resources after participants graduate. Does this course?

A: You betcha. Graduates of our Pro and Elite plans have access to our membership, which includes many benefits for getting started on your supervision journey.

Q: I have been fully licensed for two years. I can be a supervisor, right?

A: It is up to the Social Work board, but Texas Social Work rules stipulate you must hold your Social Work license for two years before they will process your Social Work Supervisor application.

If you are a Texas LCSW and take the 40 hour LCSW Supervisor Course if, upon successful completion, you can say either:

  • I have been an LCSW licensed for two years

or

  • I have been licensed less than two years and I will submit my CE certificate when I have met the two year requirement

  • Then you can may be able to become a board-approved supervisor.

Q: So, how long is this course good for to use for my supervisor designation?

A: The course is yours forever. Our certificate is going to indicate when you started and when you finished the course, so bear that in mind when you're taking the course. Each state board has the ultimate jurisdiction for what they'll accept.

Q: How long can I take to complete the Social Work Supervisor Training?

A: The Social Work board specifies you have 90 days to complete the course requirements. At Kate Walker Training, we start the 90-day clock when you purchase the course.

If you complete the course in 90 days or less, your certificate will look like this:

If you did not finish the course in more than 90 days your certificate will look like this:

Q: I signed up for the course and it has been 89 days and I don’t think I’m going to finish in time. What happens if I don’t?

A: We start the clock when you purchase the course and we cannot extend the time.

Q: I purchased the Social Work Supervisor Course and I realize now I just don’t have time. Can I get a refund?

A: Unfortunately no. The Social Work Supervisor Course is non-refundable because the material is considered to be ‘consumed’ as soon as you purchase it. Please see our terms and conditions regarding the purchase of e-goods.

Q: If I don't finish in 90 days, can I just re-purchase this course again?

A: Our system doesn't allow multiple purchases of the same product. You're more than welcome to purchase the updated version of the course at any time.

Q: But I thought when I purchased the course I was purchasing the certificate. Right?

A: No. When you purchase this course you are NOT purchasing a certificate. Rather you are purchasing an opportunity to earn a certificate.

Lack of integrity/cheating will result in immediate removal from the course and legal action if necessary. Some examples of cheating/lack of integrity are:

  • Disputing charges if you fail to earn a certificate

  • Re-purchasing the course under another email if you failed to earn a certificate

  • Plagiarism
