Q: Is this course approved by my state licensing board?

A: The North Carolina Board of Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors (NCBLCMHC) accepts continuing education approved by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) under 21 NCAC 53 .0603(c). This course is offered by Kate Walker Ph.D., an NBCC Approved Continuing Education Provider (ACEP #7040). Completing the course does not by itself grant the LCMHCS credential; the NCBLCMHC reviews your application and makes the final determination, so please confirm you meet all other requirements.

Q: Does this course meet North Carolina’s supervisor training requirement for the LCMHCS credential?

A: 21 NCAC 53 .0209(a) and 21 NCAC 53 .0801(a) require 45 contact hours of continuing education in clinical supervision. This course provides those 45 hours and is designed for LCMHCs who want to become Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisors (LCMHCS).
